Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD)

Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) is a behavioral disorder in which a child or adolescent shows a frequent and ongoing pattern of angry or irritable mood, argumentative or defiant behavior, and vindictiveness toward parents, teachers, or other authority figures. Children with ODD may often lose their temper, argue with adults, refuse to follow rules, deliberately annoy others, blame others for mistakes, or act spitefully.

ODD is more than occasional misbehavior; the behaviors are persistent, interfere with daily life, and may affect school, home, and social relationships.

ABA helps children with ODD learn to regulate their emotions, behave in socially acceptable ways, and develop essential social skills.
Treatment often includes parent training, behavioral therapy, family therapy, school support, and consistent behavior strategies.
