Comprehensive Assessments and Interventions

David Lubin, Ph.D., BCBA-D

For over 30 years, Dr. David Lubin has dedicated his career to one purpose: helping children communicate, connect, and thrive. As co-founder and head of clinical affairs at the Children’s Center for Development and Behavior, he is the clinical force behind a practice that has changed the lives of hundreds of families across Broward and Miami-Dade.

Dr. Lubin’s journey began in 1980 at the University of Florida’s Behavioral Psychology Program, where he discovered a passion for understanding how people learn and change. He went on to earn his Master of Science and Doctorate degrees at Auburn University, deepening his expertise in applied behavior analysis, clinical neuropsychology, neuroanatomy, and the science of how learning actually happens — not just in theory, but in practice.

What makes Dr. Lubin’s approach truly distinctive is a career path that few clinicians share. Before dedicating himself to children’s behavioral health, he led teams at Army Intelligence’s Research Institute at Fort Benning and at NASA’s McDonnell-Douglas Space Systems division, where he designed human-system interfaces and automated training simulators. Those high-stakes environments demanded precision, systems thinking, and an engineering mindset — skills he brought back to the therapy room and applied to building some of the most effective behavior intervention programs in South Florida.

For over 25 years, Dr. Lubin has served as an Adjunct Professor at Florida International University, teaching both experimental and applied behavior analysis — training the next generation of clinicians, many of whom now work alongside him.

At CCDB, Dr. Lubin doesn’t just lead — he shows up. He personally conducts initial intakes and assessments, develops individualized programs, and remains actively involved in every child’s intervention. His philosophy is simple: the child comes first, always. That commitment has earned CCDB a reputation built not on advertising, but on results — and on the trust of families and fellow professionals alike.
